WELCOME TO FREE GRACE THEOLOGY
The Lord Jesus Christ said John 6:47 "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life.” : Joh 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Joh 5:24 "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life." The word Gospel means "good news." There is a lot of good news from God in the Bible, so one must get from the context what the term gospel means.
There is but one book in the entire Bible whose stated purpose is to evangelize, John 20:30 “And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book: 31 But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.”
In subsequent articles we will expand upon this theme. Verses which may seem to be in conflict with this thesis will be examined. Eternal life means that one is assured of eternity with the Lord Jesus Christ. Eternal life begins when a person believes in Christ Jesus. As He said, the one who believes HAS eternal life. This eternal life begins when one is born of God, born from above, or born again. There is a striking parallel between physical birth and spiritual birth. Just as a new-born babe requires milk and must be taught, so likewise the new-born spiritual babe requires “spiritual milk,” and needs to be taught.
Many other areas of scriptural doctrine will be presented, but since without being born again one is eternally lost, the doctrine of soteriology (salvation) will be emphasized.
